LUNDI

MARDI
Tuesday 21st March
Today we visited the Mahebourg National History museum.
It was very interesting.
Mrs Heyma gave us questions about the history of Mauritius.
We found all the answers. We saw skeletons of the dodo and the red rail which was also endemic to Mauritius but is now extinct.
We learned many things about the Battle of Grand Port, slavery, the Dutch…
We saw a piece of the wreck of the Magicienne.
There was a painting of Robert Surcouf, the famous corsair.
We also saw a painting of Mahé de La Bourdonnais.
There were coins, anchors, train tickets and Chinese porcelain from about 400 years ago!
When we went out into the garden, we saw a very old train and we listened to the Julien’s jokes.
They were very funny!
MERCREDI
